Latitudes, Festival de Fotografía en Huelva - Latitudes, Festival of Photography in Huelva

Desde el pasado 24 de febrero y hasta el próximo 31 de marzo se celebra en Huelva "Latitudes" un festival fotográfico en el que se pueden contemplar diez exposiciones en torno a las cuales se organizan actividades paralelas como seminarios, conferencias y un ciclo de cine, con las que se pretende que, durante más de un mes, esta capital sea lugar de encuentro internacional para creadores, estudiosos y aficionados a la fotografía.


El Festival ocupa la mayor parte de los espacios culturales de la capital donde por primera vez, se reune una muestra de la obra de algunos de los más prestigiosos fotógrafos del mundo, entre los que se encuentran los españoles Ramón Masats y Pablo Pérez Mínguez, el estadounidense Steve McCurry, los Franceses Jean Gaumy y Pierre Gonnord, el israelí Ilan Wolf y la chilena Magdalena Correa. También se expone una selección de imágenes de la actriz Marlene Dietrich y una exposición antológica de fotógrafos de la Agencia Magnum Photo, con el fútbol como tema protagonista.


Este festival ha sido organizado por la Asociación Cultural Latitudes 21, que preside y dirige José Luis Ruiz, quien ha sido fundador y director durante más de veinte ediciones del Festival de Cine Iberoamericano de Huelva y director del Festival de Cine y Deporte de Sevilla.


Esta es la primera actividad de la Asociación, creada hace poco menos de un año impulsada por un grupo de ciudadanos de Huelva que, con fines específicamente culturales pretende organizar dos o tres actividades anuales de relevancia internacional, entre los que este festival se quiere consolidar como uno de los eventos más atractivos y significativos de Andalucia.



Since last February 24 until next March 31 is celebrated in Huelva "Latitudes" a photography festival in which you can see ten exhibitions around which are organized events such as seminars, lectures and a film series, with which it is intended that, for over a month, this city is the international meeting place for creators, scholars and amateur photographers.

The Festival takes up most of the spaces where cultural capital for the first time, gathers a sample of the work of some of the most prestigious photographers in the world, including the Spanish Ramón y Pablo Pérez Mínguez Masats, the American Steve McCurry, the French Jean Pierre Gonnord Gaumy and the Israeli Ilan Wolf and Magdalena Correa Chile. It also presents a selection of images of actress Marlene Dietrich and an anthology of photographers from Magnum Photo Agency, with football as a player issue.

This festival is organized by the Cultural Association Latitudes 21, who presides and directs Jose Luis Ruiz, who was founder and director for over twenty editions of the Festival de Cine Iberoamericano de Huelva and director of the Sports Film Festival in Seville.

This is the first activity of the Association, created just under a year driven by a group of citizens in Huelva, with specific cultural purposes to organize two or three annual international importance, which this festival is to consolidate as one of the most significant attractions of Andalucia.
